There has been a lot of debate out there about this in recent months when I asked this question to the list. Everyone told me I was crazy - except for two people. One I am sure will respond to this email - Larry?

I can see that if you have access to some basic metal working tools and a welder it would be possible. I have spent quite a bit of time under my Syncro and 2WD comparing everything and it looks quite similar.

The biggest challenge would be mounting the front suspension components. This would involve removing all the 2WD stuff right to the frame level. A good grinder would accomplish the final results of this. Installing the Syncro suspension would involve welding on some plate to the frame - again not a big deal in the overall view of things.

I think the project is beyond the "shade tree" mechanic with basic tools - but - given the right tools, a creative brain and TIME I think it would be quite possible.
