Subject: 8 inch steel rims for 2wd '85?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Howdy List; I just won the following on E-bay to try as an experiment:

http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=540838634&ed=97985861 8

I figure $50 is okay even if they don't work -- but, does anybody think the offset will work with the Vanagon, or am I going to need other hardware to make these work? They are supposedly 112mm 5 bolt pattern. Any guesses as to if they will interfere with the rear sliding door? They are 8 inch wide, but if they go into the wheel well deep enough, maybe they will work.

Anybody ever used these? Do they support the weight of a Vanagon? I assume they do, since I've seen similar wheels on large pickup trucks (carrying large loads!).

And if they don't work, there's the ones Ben is selling... But I have to get those drilled...

Any info greatly appreciated!
