Hey Folks, Last summer, I was driving in east Portland, Oregon when I saw a 1990-1991 white, vanagon. Was not in great shape. It seemed a but dirty and ragged. I am a Vanagon admirer, so I took a closer look as I walked by. When I looked in, I saw that the owner had take the front AC console out (along with the first straight piece of duct that goes to the back) in order to put a Sun roof in. All in all, it seemed like a neat idea. When I looked closer, I saw that he had capped the end (near the drivers head) with a black plastic vent. It seemed to fit the uniquely shaped duct well. I believe it had two directional vents to help direct the air flow toward the driver. Being from Alaska, I am quite a wimp when it comes to heat, and need my AC. I would not give up my ac just for a sun roof, however, this seemed like an interesting way to have both! Has any one happened to see anything like the black AC cap before? Ever heard of some one customizing their AC ducts? I wouldn't mind a sun roof, if I could keep my AC too. Ever see a power (electric) sunroof in a vanagon before? Curious, as I sit here at work... not working.. :) Thanks, Neil 1991 Vanagon GL 57k _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com |
