a low branch grab my antenna and snap it off at the base!! It was like slow motion in a dream...Anyway, could I have some suggestions of where to buy an alternative antenna system?

<SNIP>

I wonder how many antennae get ripped off by tree branches. I did the same.

While over in Germany last summer, I found a Bosch Antenna that was an exact replacement for my 90 Westy. It is fully retractable and looks almost exactly the same as the stock antenna that I ripped off. It also has the extension cylinder that goes right down the mounting hole so that the thing is much more secure just like my original antenna.

I'm not sure if its available over here in Canada or USA. Maybe one of our list vendors could supply it (hint hint). It cost DM35.50 (approx. US$17.10) and this included the VAT tax added (16%) and I bought it at a regular store so no special deals there.

The details on the box were ...

Bosch Profi Universal 570 V 114S 512 7 691 200 512

I did buy an antenna from one of our list vendors but I was disappointed because it was not fully retractable, did not have the extension that mounted deeply and securely in the van and looked very generic i.e. ugly :-(
