Subject: Recommendations - Trip West
Content-type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

Hi All! I'm looking for some recommendations on a trip I'm planning in June 2001. I'll be going from Iowa to Florence, Oregon, the only two requirements I have are 1.) I have to go through Mitchell, SD on the way west and 2.) I have only 2 weeks for the trip. If any of you have opinions/suggestions on places to camp, routes to take, side trips worth taking, places to stay away from, VW rallies, etc.., I would appreciate it.

I had thought about stopping at the Grand Tetons and Custer State Park, after that I'm pretty open to suggestions.

Last time I asked you folks on recommendations, it was to the outer banks and I got some really GREAT suggestions.

Finally, what recommendations for preparing my 85 Van? It has 102K miles, tires have about 10k miles on them, its automatic, new battery, had the a/c repaired last year. Anything special need to be done for mountain driving?

Regards,
