Okay. It's batt-freezing chilly here in Michigan tonight (not actually...cold, understand) so I will weigh in. Many years ago I read in that august journal, The Mother Earth News, that momentarily shorting out the battery terminals with with a stout screwdriver would briefly revive a cold, nearly discharged battery. I guess the resistance heated things up a bit, increasing the output just enough for one brief fling with the starter. Yes, there are some hazards involved. No, I have never tried this myself. At least, not with my (mand. cont.) ...Vanagon. Now Matthew, save the profanity for my header replacement. This is a respectable BB for upstanding folks. George.
