Yes I have. Done this in all my Vanagon. Let me just say this. THIS IS THE STUPIDOUS THING VW HAS EVER DONE. Rather than inconvenience the person that locks there key in the car, VW figured it would be better to inconvenience everyone all the time. GO FIGURE!!!!!!!!! Anyway, its not easy. You can break several plastic parts if not carefull. As described there is a cam that needs to be cut off. Its not easy to get to, as you must cut a rivet to get the lock apart. EMZ
