Subject: Golf engine conversion runs

You all may remember that I was converting my 82 Diesel to a Golf GT engine. Well it finally ran today, loud as s%^&t because it doesn't have an exhaust yet, but it ran. If anybody is interested I found a way to mount the Cis-e fuel distributer on the driver's side and feeds the intake manifold by a short 90 degree hose. Also allows for the use of an inexpensive cylindrical shaped airfilter about 6" in dia. and 5" long, cost me $7 at Advance Autoparts. The airbox I constructed to do this is just a prototype made of aluminum sheet. If everything works out well, I'm thinking of molding the entire thing of fiberglass, which will cut down on the number of parts and allow me to optimize the fit somemore. I'll try to get some photos available if anybody's interested.
