Brian,

The company who made these rims are still in business. They make custom offsets. There is no telling how they will fit. The plus side is you can still get them made for under $200 for a set of 4 IIRC.

I can tell you this much. I fit 8" wide rims w/ the correct offset on my 2wd Vanagon w/o interference from the slider. The front will be another story. You will need the correct offset just to clear the suspension. Then there's that rear portion of the wheel arches. I do have 7" wide rims in front now in my 2wd.
