Phil: As the owner of the same size/capacity powerboat I can tell you it's not the engine size/hp of the towing vehicle but the stopping capacity that you should be concerned with. My '93 *hevy S-10 with a V-6 tows with all the power I need; it just doesn't stop worth a damn. "Almost" not safe.
