Ken's advice follows: John; I made up a fuel pressure gage that stays in the engine compartment(check the archives) for just this type of problem. I used cheap parts I had laying around the garage. You could find them at any FLAPS. A "tee" and a couple barb adapters and a gauge from home depot. I think you really need to know the rail pressure before you proceed. I hope you didn't throw away the old pump. =:-o

John; As far as I know pressure is pressure. An oil pressure gauge would probably work real good since it is 0 to 50 psi. A home depot water pressure gauge is cheaper and reads 0 to 100 psi.

I went to Home Depot and got a 0-100 psi water pressure gauge, and an adapter to a 1/4" barb. Attached to 1/4" fuel line with a clamp. Used another clamp to connect to T fitting on engine. Nothing to It, and it worked great. Gauge, adapter, and 2 clamps was under $10.
