The T3 Caravelle (Vanagon) was available in Europe in a 12-passenger version. It had the front seat arrangement of the 9-seater and three rows of bench seats behind the cab. The rearmost seat was placed slightly farther back than in the 7/8/9-passenger versions so there was less cargo room and the seats were closer together so there was less leg room. I've wondered what the acceleration and climbing would be like with the 50 horsepower 1.6 litre normally aspirated diesel propelling 12 heavy people.
