There is an '89 Syncro Westy for sale here in Colorado with 130K, a new factory rebuilt engine, new transmission, every single record since new(including a $9200 bill!!), 1 owner, P/W/L/M, A/C. No rear differential lock. (Has anyone ever seen an '89 Syncro Westy with a locker?) And the dealer was asking $16,800. I guess that he was innundated with offers from other west coast dealers that he bumped his price to $19,900. That was ~10 days ago. I am not sure if it is still for sale.

There is also another list member who is selling an '89 Syncro Westy with 82K miles I believe, for $19,500. I don't know if the heads have been done on that one or not. Again no locking rear differential.

So I'd say the one you are considering w/o A/C, no locking rear diff, P/W/L/M, original heads, engine, and tranny, original paint, no rust would be $17K-$18K. But being in Oregon, if you bought it for $17K you could probably turn around and sell it this spring for $20K to someone who doesn't know about the heads that are about to leak, so is $17K a "fair" price or a "good" one? $15K would be a very good price. At $13K I'd buy as many as I could find.

Anyway this is all conjecture, as I have no first hand knowledge that these $20K-$25K Syncro Westies actually sell for what they are asking......but that is what they are asking for 'em.

If you want more specifics I could probably give you a full rundown of all the Syncro Westies for sale on the continent at the moment. But those are the only '89's that I know of. HTH.
