I just phoned BD (yeah, from Ireland!) and they're going to ship over a
Temp II sensor ASAP. Should take a few days to arrive ....
Vanagons are in short supply over here. According to the DOE, I have the
only one on their records, so my chances of getting native parts are
approximately zero even from the $$dealer$$ 8-(

I'll do this, too, just in case tho' my gut-feeling right now is that the
sensor's packed in. There's a coolant drip from the sensor area too, BTW.

If it was a II+ I'd have half a chance of fixing it myself! 8-). Hey -
maybe I could retro-fit a G4 processor into my ECU. That way my Vanagon
will go 50% faster than everyone else's *and* play a mean game of QuakeIII
at the same time!! 8-)
