howdy vgon guru's i have recently noticed an annoying squeak when it is cold
and in 1st or 2nd gear and have had for some time a mild shaking/vibrating
almost all through 3rd and 4th (manual transmission) but at 45mph or so,
sometimes lower, sometimes higher, it gets extremely violent and then just
stops suddenly at about 55mph, not that theres this squeak, ive decided to do
something about it. 

backround: syncro, had driveshaft rebuilt because of another much more violent
shaking at all speeds, but this 45mph shaking has been around since i first
got her. had the wheel bearings repacked about 3 years ago when she was my
fathers, i dont recall if it shook before then. 

could this be from the wheel bearings? i remember someone talking about this a
while ago, and someone sugested going around a 90 degree turn at the speed of
the most severe vibration to prove something i believe. im not going to try
this for (hopefully) obvious reasons, unless im recalling very wrong. if this
may be the cause how hard is it to repack/replace the bearings? any special
tools? or should i leave this to my friendly mechanic (who is able to keep his
shop open on my paranoid fix this before it breaks impulses alone)if anyone
thinks its anything cheaper/easier, just feel free to say so. thnank all of
you in advance.
