Salute! Cava? Hey, I'm having the same problem. My torque converter is way sluggish if I don't let it warm up for a minute too. It doesn't like to downshift going up hills, and it's kinda noisy in 1st gear. I bought a gasket kit and threw it in the back to save me a little money if it blows on the road. I might go-over it if a remove the engine for a head gasket job. But, as you can see, I can't really help you. But I hope someone knows about this, I'd like to know what the answer is!! Comment France? Where are you in that great country? Brian Cochran 84 westy AT w/ dying 2.1 Carnation,WA

I told her if anyone could help her out it is you! Here's the problem: When she first starts out each morning her automatic transmission refuses to shift into second until she has driven at 10 MPH for five minutes or more. Then, finally, it thunks into second and functions normally until the next morning. She has replaced transmission fluid and had lines bled. Any thoughts? Also, who's the best VW mechanic in Albuquerque? Please respond to my p-mail as I have suspended service from the list while I am on this trip. Many thanks.
