We've finally had some days in the 30's in Milwaukee area, so it's got me tempted to start a couple of projects I've put off for a bit because of cold weather - One is to replace a leaky slave cylinder, I think I've got that covered (thanks to a recent thread), but will mail with any problems I run into... The other project is to install a rear heater unit that I bought from someone on the list, into my van - an '82 Diesel. The question I have is: where do the coolant lines typically go through the fire wall, and where do they splice into the heater hoses? I've got an idea where to go through with them (near where the air intake hose is for the auxiliary heater), but thought I'd see if someone knew off hand (I wouldn't expect anyone to get on their back in the cold and check) where the hoses ran. Where is the unit itself usually located - passenger, middle, driver side (U.S.)? How big an in-line fuse should I use? I'm probably just hooking up high speed for now on a simple toggle switch.. Anything else I'd be forgetting? Thanks, Chris |
