Back when my '85 was near new, I wandered into a garage in which I cleared the hanging pole easily, only to scratch the skylight as I pulled into a parking space. I no longer recall the measurements, but I did go and get a tape measure. The space was a couple inches less than what the advertised at the front. The parking co. paid for a new skylight!
