Jim, I had to take my 84 westy 30 miles on the interstate "without" the westy top on to get body repairs and painting done. The whole top was open to the sun and wind and I gotta tell you the noise was unbearable!! Rain would add another dimension to the "open" experience. Maybe not the best idea.....
