Jobst is currently a HP engineer. He's also an avid bicyclist and has written a book, widely used, about the science and technology of bicycle wheels. He posts frequently to the rec.bicycles.tech group, and he pretty much *always* sounds like that. I suppose he might be described, charitably, as a person who "doesn't suffer fools gladly."
