I am currently rebuilding my 83 WBX engine for the first time.( I have owned VW vans for 30 years and won't drive anything else.) I have rebuilt a 71 T2 Westfalia about 3 times that I owned for 15 years. I would like to know if "lapping" the cylinders and heads is a good idea in a WBX. That is taking some valve grinding compound, putting it on top of cylinder then placing the cylinder in the head and grinding it for a few minutes. I am thinking it will make a tighter/smoother seal in a very critical area.

First time on the list. Michael

83.5 WBX Westfalia
