I do have the blue cap. Definately could be an altitude related occurance, as I am climbing. I will read through todays messages. Thanks for the help

<< I just asked this question today (read Actives for today) Some say its the expansion take cap I had the black one and I replaced it with a new blue type. $12 I also bled the system to get the air out if any in the radiator. Problem was high altitude and slow travel speeds up hill that brought it to the forefront. Dan

Hi all,

I am en route from Boston To Boulder in my new (to me) '90 Syncro Westy. Coming through St. Louis my coolant warning light came on. After immediately pulling over I discovered that the coolant in the main coolant take had fallen below the sensor thus tripping my light. The van was not overheating, and I found no leaks. BUT, the expansion tank is nearly overflowing! What is going on?? Is this a coolant cap issue??

Also, my clutch will not completely dis-engage. There is a slight tendancy for the van to move when in neutral. Depressing the clutch reduces but does not eliminate this tendancy. I had planned on making it home to Boulder(850mi) before addressing this problem ans I do not need to do much shifting on the highway. Is this a good idea?? Or should I hole up in St. Louis and have it repaired? Any reccomendations for repair in St. Louis??

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated! I will be spending the night in the library parking lot and will be checking my mail first thing in the morning. Please respond to cz137@aol.com, as I am not following the list. Thanks a million!

Cory '90 Syncro Westy
