I hope you never need this information but the 1.6 deisel that was in the
Vanagon is the same diesel VW used in many golfs,jettas and rabbits. Maybe
someone out in list land can supply us with a complete listing of what would
work in a Vanagon. I do not want to replace my diesel with another kind of
engine. ( I like diesels). Anyway if you need a new engine they should be
plentyful (and cheap). Let me know what happens!
