I couldn't agree more with Matthew. My 84 westy "will" do 80.... flat road, no hills, no wind but its straining at that point and really asking a lot from 1900cc's in a two ton box. The westy isn't my daily driver its our "escape machine" My daily driver is a 6cyl GTI and I find when I have that power I tend to drive a little too fast....

When I get behind the wheel of the westy life just slows down and just seems better.... of course I do have to travel along worrying about what hose is gonna blow etc. but thats O.K.
