This can vary greatly.  Watch out for electric door openers that stick down below the level of the door too.  I needed to do some work on my westy while visiting relatives in Iowa.  We had to let some air out of the tires to clear the door opener in my Uncle's garage.  (makes it a real pain to get under the van too!)
