I was watching the final show on the Dakar Rally 2001 on Speedvision last
night and I noticed that there was a "VW Buggy" with a TDI engine in it!
Anyone know how this fellow placed and where I can find out more information
on it?


Just so we all know:


KTM finished 1st [2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th!] in the bikes
Mitsubishi 1st in the cars - Jutta Klienschmidt of Germany in the driver
seat - first woman to win and first German to win
Tatra finished 1st in the trucks - just a note that the Canadian army has
the same truck called the LSVW - big Styr-Puch logo on the front of it - one
very nice machine!
