Here is what i ended up doing to remove the plugs before i rebuilt air cooled engines. I took a piece of dowell and carved down the end so it was a snug fit inside of the end of the plug. I'm assuming that the plug is the same size and shape as the type1 plugs- one that has a hole in the top. Once the dowell what carved the right size, a little tapping would jam it in place and then you could carefully pull it out. I think i used 1/2" dowell. The dowell is soft enough that if wouldn't bugger up the relief plug. This is the only way i cound it get these plugs out. Good luck and tell us how it works! Cheers Matthew 84
