I got the same ones in the kit from Bus Depot and am not particularly impressed. They are brighter, but the low is to low when the highs aren't looking for squirrels in the trees. I made some rubber spacers to get them to fit. In a word ...CHEESY. I would happily pay the extra money to get real H-4s. The center lamps Ron provides in the kit are the real thing though, no complaints there. Duncan

Felow Light hungry Vanagonites, I've been running Sylvania "extra light" halogen headlamps for about a year, and they worked pretty good, giving a brighter, and wider beam than stock, but still appeared to be yellow, not bright white like I wanted. So, a couple of weeks ago, I got a bug, to replace them with H4 halogen units, and found some at e-Bay. I won the auction, and when I got them they were some bizarre brand form India, and the fluting on the lenses, was kind of weird, but I thought what the heck, and went onward and started to replace them. NO GO! When I had them into the bucket's, the retaining ring wouldn't seat on the lamp, far enough to hold them in the bucket solid. There was a 1/16" gap between the lamp and the ring. Hmmm. I took them out and laid a bead of high temp black silicone on the front and back of the lamps, where they would seat on the bucket and ring, to take up the slack. I let the sit overnite, and installed them, yesterday. They are one heck of a lot brighter, but the light pattern is so off the wall, I'm not sure where they are pointed, Maybe the camel's in India don't have to know where they are going at nite. Anyway, here's another finding for you who are thinking about an H4 conversion, may want to look out for------ The Bus Depot sells the exact same H4 conversion, by the same Camel headlamp people, and in my opinion, they aren't worth the time, money, or energy to install them, regardless who you buy them from. So, as we speak, I am looking for some Bosch H4 halogen, H4 replacements for the Curry powder lights. Anther education in life---In the long run it really doesn't cost any more to fly first class, and sometimes may even prove to be cheaper.

Happy Candlepower,
