Subject: SyncroBeast going back together, HELP Please
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"
Hi group,
SyncroBeast is going back together as we speak. The front end was totally
pulled down, even the sub frame dropped. I'll finally get to experience
those expensive custom Bilsteins that Steve Schwenk was so instrumental in
getting made for us.
I've got a couple of questions maybe someone can help with. I've got no
other Syncro close to go look at, can someone look under and tell me what
you see.

1. I believe the rubber damper on the drive shaft goes at the rear.
Is this correct?
2. There is a pipe protecting the shift linkage to the passenger side of
the drive shaft. The front slips into another tube, the back end is held
up by some sort of bracket. The bracket doesn't seem to match very well to
a hole in the frame.
Is there some sort of standoff between the bracket and the frame, or does
the bracket just bolt to the frame direct?
3. The sub frame seemed to bolt right up. No real adjustment to speak of,
although there are left/right slots there.
Am I missing something here, isn't there supposed to be some sort of
adjustment to put it in the right place, or forward/backward adjustment to
align correctly for the drive shaft?? I seem to remember something about
correct placement in relation to the drive shaft.

SORRY to hit you all with the questions. I just don't have a lot of time.
I'm supposed to start with Lockheed Martin in Moorestown NJ on Feb 5, and I
don't know how we will ever make it. Dad's here doing little house
projects, his back's not what it used to be, my brother-in-law Dave is here
from the UP Michigan (he's a yuper) and he's actually putting SyncroBeast
back together, I'm inside finishing up the 2nd Bath, varnishing, the list
is never ending, and my brother Eric is due Tuesday, hopefully he'll show
Monday PM also, but I don't know.
Any way. Any wisdom on the above 3 questions would be helpful. Especially
#2 and 3.
TIA
