Bill, Right now I am restoring my 84' westy that had the same amount of rust and more. I have axcess to a large garage with alot of tools for body work-compressor, sand blasters etc. I am also an artist(sculpter:good w/ bondo!) And I am spending MONTHS to repair this darn rust! Im in rust hell! I would say pass on this westy syncro unless: a. You own a body shop b. you dont mind cosmetics(the rust is not structural) c. You dont plan on selling this van in near future d. You use 100$ bills for spare toilet paper Phil 84' westy
