couple questions.....my oil pressure light came on intermittently today upon start up (85GL 1.9l). It didn't stay on but when it it was very bright or very dim. I looked at where the switch mounts to the engine and the rubber boot that goes over the connection is cracked and dry. Also, the wire it self has had electrical tape wraped around it in places (from previous owner). What I noticed when driving was that the led would be very bright when I went through big puddles (lots of rain here today). This leads me to think it is shorting out?????? I found the right oil pressure switch at the VW dealer but I also have to replace the rubber cover thing.......the VW dealer is useless in this department, they said they need a part number cause they can't find it on their microfische. Sooooooooooooo........anyone know the part number for the rubber cover much appreciated, Chad |
