My father just reported in after reaching Arizona from Ohio in his '87 Westy it had in the past suffered from sporadic Vanagon Syndrome ? (bucking hesitation, etc.) Well just outside Cinn., Ohio it began again. He had always run regular 87 Octane, but decided then to fill up with a middle grade gas. From Cincy on to Arizona, he experience no further episodes. Was this mere coincidence, or could it be a fix to his problem. Perhaps he never had the syndrome but instead the van wanted higher octane all along? As you can see I'm reaching here. Please, any thoughts would be appreciated.
