Same thing happened on mine. I tried just about everything to get the table to budge, but no go. Finally, I just gave it a good yank - forcing my fat fingers under the bottom corners and giving it the old heave ho - and it broke free. Not wanting to go thru this again, I removed the latching mechanism and replaced it with Velcro - a strip glued to each bottom corner of the table and the receiver strip glued opposite, in the table recess. Not real strong, I admit - I'm going to have to replace it this spring - but it works keeping the table down and from flopping around when driving. It was suggested on this list not too long ago that the thing to do is replace the latch with a metal plate attached to the table, and a rare earth magnet opposite, in the table recess. I may go that route...

Hope this helps...

The table on my 88 wolfburg is in it's fold down position and I can't seam to get it to release. On the bottom of it , say's to push table . I assume this is to release it but it wont . I can hear a clicking sound but nothing is happening . What is if there is any secret to getting this to come out ?
