You can have a hose made up any length for $10 or less at most any hydraulic
hose shop... I had a braided stainless steel w Teflon sleeve made up...
short one for about $8... made to the exact length I wanted... my experience
with the VDO hose is that it is over priced and it is too long... see my
write up somewhere in the oil pressure section of www.vanagon.com
