So far, 15 vans have RSVP'd, and 3 more possible attendees. A list is below. (So far, there are seven children coming, ages 4 to 11?.) I think 25 vans will be our limit. Area five could hold 100, but 25 seems pretty big while still manageable. I guess we could hold a few extra spaces open. that will be about 50+ people. There are only 4 bathrooms (flush toilets and sinks and showers).

Thus far, people are coming from San Diego, LA, Santa Barbara, Bakers field, Reno, Sacramento area, and the Bay area. Last year, one van came from Oregon. the farthest traveled will get a prize this year, although Gary and Tom deserve a prize for last year. they had to drive most of the way down and back in 3rd gear, and do major repairs on the way home.

There will be a $15 registration donation on top of the $10 a day camping fee paid to the park. By donation, I mean this is not mandatory if you are on a tight budget. But if most people donate, that will give us about $300 to spend on the extras. Every penny will be spent on stuff for the group. For 50 people, that's not that much, really. Should it be $20?

Last year, Coyote and my kids and I ate an early dinner on our way in friday late afternoon in San Juan Batista, about 15 minutes from the campground. It might be fun for those who plan to arrive friday afternoon/early evening to meet there for dinner. there are some decent mexican restaurants, and it's a neat historic town/mission. Good margaritas, too. Let me know if interested so we can reserve space.

Brent suggested a barbecue for the pot luck dinner, and pancakes for the pot luck breakfast before the ritual parade to the mountain peak. there are fire pits (and tables) at the campground, but no grills or anything like that. So, we need the necessary equipment. Who can help on this, anyone?

I have decided to add an adult class to the remote control car race, so be nice to your kid so he will loan you his car. Or borrow one from a neighbor kid. There will be a trophy for the winner of the kids race, although we may need to set limits on motor size to keep it fair. (what should they be? What size motors does everyone have? There will be at least one steep uphill section, so some power will be necessary.) The track will be open for practice on saturday, with the race on sunday morning at around 10:00. We may have power at the camp for charging batteries, i'm not sure yet. (generator anyone?)

Maybe i should use the syncro-org@egroups.com mail list for this so as not to clog the syncro list with discussion/planning for the event.

That's all for now.
