While in the process of shopping around town for a hydraulic lifter, pushrod tube, seals, and valve cover gaskets for my '87, I asked about the collapsible tube vs. the non-collapsible. *Everyone* said not to use the collapsible, as they leak profusely. I asked if the non-collapsible tube will go in with the head in place, and everyone said "yes". I just *knew* I would mangle the existing tube, and surely enough, I did. Searching the archives, however, I was really discouraged, especially in light of how difficult it was to get the old one out. Is it humanly possible to install a non-collapsible? Bentley says yes but offers no further suggestion. And of course, common sense dictates that I clean everything spotless before I start putting everything back together. As always, any help is appreciated. Thanks, Sam |
