I feel like I have come full circle on this thing. Originally, I thought I would go as cheaply as humanly possible. The '86 has 185 Kmi. on it and I have a clean '90 waiting patiently for it to die with dignity. But, with all that the '86 has been through and with all its minor faults, I am starting to think the damn thing will outlast me. My 13-year-old son is getting his juices flowing about driving. I have been trying to cultivate his taste for a nice, used BMW 318i. Nothing to expensive nor powerful, just something I could have some fun with, too. Just when I thought I had him sold on a 318i, he tells me he wants a van as in Vanagon. I guess the kid's not too dumb. He knows he won't have to hear me whining about spending the money for another car and, moreover, he has a live-in mechanic. Rich |
