Coke is an acid, battery corrosion is acidic. You have to use a base substance such as baking soda to neutralize the acid, not more acid. Any type of penetrating oil is better for loosening rust than the weak acid of Coke, and will not gum up the works with dried sugar. Coke dosen't cut oil or grease, try it on a shop rag sometime, by itself. And unless you want a sticky windshield, Windex works better. . |
