I have owned 2 Merker Scorpios, an 88 and an 89...both new and they were the best long distance drivers I have ever owned, thanks mostly to their seats. Before I got rid of the 89 I seriously considered swapping the seats into my 87 Westy, however, they are wider then the vans seats, and I assumed that they would not swivel? Merkers have a cult following much like Vanagons, but on a smaller scale. I believe that there were only 10,000 Scorpios imported during 88 and 89.
