Subject: Might be buying'86 Vanagon automatic
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Hello to all on list, My name is Sid and I am a new lst member. Thanks for being here. I recently looked at an 86 Vanagon autmatic for sale in northeast Ohio.I know it will need major engine work or replacement and am prepared for that. Am considering a second harder look but would like to be advised what ills to look for structurally. Outwardly the body appears straight and relatively rust free( for this area) but what should I look for underneath. Also would like info on what to expect from the auto trans. Previously owned an 83GL 4 speed so have no experience with the auto. Thanks in advance for your replies, Sid Marlin 87 Golf GT 88 Audi 5000S
