The idea of more power is to be able to USE it. A trans which will not handle lots of use of available power just isn't good enough.

Uh uh. Albins in Australia makes a thicker mainshaft and full gearsets. The hears have coarser teeth and are much WIDER than stock also. Their reputation is that they're unbreakable... you'll blow the diff or case first. I just sold Bay 091 trans with this setup.
