Steven

No offence taken, but it is not such a strange question if you know the reason for asking.

Let me explain. The reason I ask for the capacities has nothing to do with a craving for trivial knowledge. As said I have fitted the 2.7 flat six Subaru motor into my Vanagon. A bit more torque to push my brick around nothing more.

Recently I had a failed head gasket in the Subi , which of course cost an arm and a leg to repair. I know the capacity of the Subaru Pump it is written in the manual I have. Bentley however does not supply this info re theVW pump. Now if the two pumps vary greatly in the rate of flow provided then I may well suffer another head gasket failure in the near future. Lets face it, the Subaru pump only has to push the coolant less that a few feet to its standard radiator, whereas the VW pump was capable of pushing coolant a lengthy distance.

Call me paranoid or whatever but I want to know if the Subi pump can handle the extra distance encountered in my set up, i.e., motor in rear radiator in front The only way to find out is ask. If it cannot match or equal the VW then I may have to come up with a solution to a possible problem.

I see from your response that you are a qualified man ( no mafia connection intended ) perhaps you can shed some light on my worry.
