Max wrote Since the rear pulley on the 2.1 has mucho torque on it, any shade tree tricks to lock the motor up and twist counterclockwise real hard? I'm assuming this is better done in the van as opposed to doing it with the motor out of the vehicle. TIA

Max The pulley bolt is torqued to 258pds the best method for the bolt removal is a 1/2 drive air gun and flywheel lock next would be a piece of angle iron bolted to the flywheel using the clutch bolts and a breaker bar. In the van pulley removal is harder because the in gear and E brake on trick allows to much flexing. I think a chain or steel cable threw the pulley and around the the engine support might work. the pulley removal can be a little tricky they do not slide off when the bolt is removed and the I have not found a puller that works well. In the shop we remove the flywheel and back the bolt out for the pulley 2 or 3 turns and then the pulley is shimmed away from the block and some tapping of the bolt brakes the pulley free of the crank. I have started supplying pulleys with my long blocks to prevent the installer from this P.I.T.A. My long blocks have the O-ring needed behind the pulley already installed. This O-ring is not part of any gasket sets and needs to be purchased at the dealer The part # for the O-ring is N 900 784 01 Bob Donalds http://www.bostonengine.com as always all rights reserved
