Hello,


This past weekend I changed the power steering hoses on an 86 Vanagon since they were leaking.  I could not see in the Bently where you need to do any special bleeding procedure and the local VW dealer said that nothing special was needed.  However, following the hose change and fluid fill up, the power steering is now making a whining noise from the front of the van.  After turning the wheel back and forth numerous times, it got better but never went away.  Fluid remained topped off (in fact, upon turning the wheels, the fluid started to overflow) and the noise did not go away even after driving.


Can anyone help me in identifying the cause of this?
