Overkill? Ahhhh... I beleive a fuel pressure gauge is one of the main diagnostic tools for the fuel injections system... certainly not overkill.... how would you ever test fuel pressure without one?

Oh but you're apparently not reading.... I said I wanted to install a permanent fuel pressure in the engine compartment... never said anything about running it to the dash or an electrical sender....

A strange comment.... I guess you're assuming that the fuel regulator is the only possible source of a fuel pressure problem... but it's not.... the injectors, fuel pump check valve, and fuel pump itself are all possible sources of the problem...

my thinking is why not have a permanent fuel pressure gauge rather than have to relieve the pressure just to install the thing... a permanent fuel pressure gauge and an digitool and you have most of the bases covered for fuel injection diagnostics....
