Subject: Grinding in reverse
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Can anyone help me with the likely cause of a grinding like noise emminating from the front wheels of my 86 Syncro when backing up. I sounds like something dragging against the brake rotors but when I take the transmission out of reverse while still travelling rearward the noise disappears. I replaced the rotors/pads at 110,000 miles and now have about 170,000. I may have some front bearing issues since I notice that I need to pump the brake pedal a bit to keep the pedal travel in check. I flipped the front driveshafts end for end at about 120,000.
