You need to change the rabbit front plate, as it holds the driver for rhe
rabbit governer and you don't need that. You change the shift arm (which
involves dropping the valve body..not hard, just messy) You will need to have
the two identical paper gaskets and the big "O" ring where the transmission
and final drive mate...You SHOULD have an array of selective washers and
measure the depth like the book sez. I've always found them so close I never
bothered (the tranny cost me 20 buck or so each time)
Then you have to block off or figure how to retain the rabbit fill and
dipstick tube..I've always made a plug but I guess you can just leave it.
The rabbit doesn't have the tranny cooler!..However it might be fine (see the
$20 remark above)
It IS possible to do this W/O pulling the whole unit but don't do it..way too
easy to screw up the first time
