I just put one in my 84 (that's for sale, damnit!).  It cost me $95 for
the windshield and I bought a factory VW seal (without molding groove)
for another $60.  I put it in myself in about an hour, however I've done
it many a time.  Regular window seals are easy after you've seen it done
a few times.
