I am trying to remove my starter motor. It died on me...

I am having a hell of a time with the top bolt. Is there a trick to it. Would I get to it easier if I removed the air filter and pipes leading to it?

On a side note, someone broke into my van over the weekend. They broke the passenger side rear most window. Glass is everywhere, even in the water tank, which I leave open for the winter. Glass is on the bed etc. What is the best way to get this out. I certainly don't want to sleep or drink glass this summer.

Gregor
