Hi gang, I'm once more on the trail of a rust-free Westy with an automatic tranny. It's an 86 with 190,000 km (118,000 Miles) on it. There are no service records and the current owner has had it for a year. She had the crank seals redone. Why would these go and is it a harbinger of something ominous?? It's 2.5 hours away from me so I'm going to have to get a mechanic on Karl Bloss's list to check it out for me. Assuming the worst and that this engine has never been touched am I loking at a rebuild around this mileage?? TIA for your wisdom, Doug Alcock '84 Westy Toronto, Canada |
